Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Portveil, a VPN service with a device dashboard and an API. By subscribing or using Portveil you agree to them.

The service

Portveil routes your devices' internet traffic through our servers (currently in the United States and Finland) and lets you see and control your devices from a dashboard or through the API. We work to keep it available but don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and features may change.

Your account

Your account key gives full control of your account. Keep it secret; you're responsible for activity under it and under any API tokens you create. Tell us promptly if you think it has been exposed.

Plans and billing

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled, and are billed through Stripe. You can cancel any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Device limits depend on your plan. If a payment fails and can't be recovered, the account is closed and its devices are disconnected. Payments aren't refunded, except where the law requires it; when you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

Acceptable use

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break it, with or without notice where needed to protect the service or others.

Liability

Portveil is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. A VPN improves privacy but doesn't make you anonymous or protect you from every threat.

Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes we'll email you before they take effect. Continuing to use Portveil after that means you accept the new terms.
